"Believe that you can do the dreams that you put in your heart. Set a goal and make it happen. There will be failures along the way but use them as a guide to motivate you to reach your dream." - Atty. Anthony Mark Emocling

Anthony Mark Dulawan Emocling, a son of a taxi driver in Baguio City, made headlines recently for defying the odds and passing the bar exam despite being visually impaired.

Emocling, who graduated cum laude in Political Science from the University of Baguio Law School, placed 1,407 out of 3,992 who passed the 2022 bar exams.

Anthony lost his sight at a young age. Despite this setback, he remained determined to pursue his dreams and enrolled at the University of Baguio Law School.

It was a difficult journey for Anthony, who had to rely on special software to read and study. He said he used regular computers with reading software installed to read the books for him.

But Anthony's persistence paid off, and he passed the bar exam. He is now an inspiration to many, showing that with hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset, anything is possible.

In an interview with the Philippine Information Agency Cordillera, Emocling said that from his dream of becoming a police officer, he became a lawyer after listening to talk programs on the radio every day. "I was so fascinated and amazed at the way they talked and explained things," he added.

Mark expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and mentors who supported him on his journey.

"They never gave up on me. They believed in my abilities that I can do it. I also have good friends that supported my dreams, and they are the ones who also helped me in reviews," Emocling said.

Emocling's success is a testament to the power of inclusiveness, which is the principle of ensuring that everyone is given an equal opportunity regardless of their abilities or disabilities.
