On July 1, 2024, the Baguio City Jail-Male Dormitory was honored with the National Best City Jail of the Year 2024 award. This accolade was presented during the 33rd anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) held at Terrence Hall, AFP Compound, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The award was conferred by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin 'Benhur' Abalos, Jr., and Chief BJMP Jail Director Ruel S. Rivera. This recognition marks a momentous occasion for the facility, which had previously received the same honor 25 years ago, in 1999.
