In a heartwarming tale of compassion and courage, a security guard named Emilio del Rosario came to the rescue of a young Rufous-bellied Eagle that was being harassed by a group of crows in Baguio City, Philippines. On November 5, 2023, del Rosario witnessed the distressing scene and without hesitation, stepped in to protect the helpless eagle.

With gentle hands and a caring heart, del Rosario carefully retrieved the eagle from the crows' grasp and safely transported it to Baguio Teachers' Camp Centennial Park. Two days later, on November 7, 2023, the eagle was transferred to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Cordillera Administrative Region (DENR-CAR) for a comprehensive health assessment.

Nortemia Jarligao, a DENR-CAR representative, expressed their intention to release the eagle back into its natural habitat if it is deemed healthy and capable of surviving in the wild. Potential release sites include protected areas in Bokod, Itogon, Tuba, and Marcos Highway.

Emilio del Rosario's act of bravery and the DENR-CAR's commitment to the eagle's well-being serve as a testament to the power of human intervention in safeguarding wildlife. Their actions have given the young eagle a renewed chance to soar through the skies, symbolizing the beauty of nature and the inherent kindness that resides within humanity.

This inspiring story serves as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact on the lives of animals. It encourages us to be vigilant observers of our surroundings and to extend a helping hand whenever possible to those in need, be it a feathered friend or any other creature.
