On Tuesday night, August 13, 2024, Hergie Tao-wag Bacyadan, a Cordilleran boxer from Tanudan, Kalinga, was honored at Malacañang Palace.

The 17 Filipino athletes, honored at Malacañang Palace, celebrate their achievements in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

During the 'Pagbibigay Dangal: A Heroes' Welcome Celebration for the Philippines' Paris 2024 Olympians,' President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. awarded Bacyadan with a Presidential Citation and a symbolic cheque worth PHP 1 million.

Presidential Recognition and Incentive

The award ceremony recognized Hergie Bacyadan's impressive achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympics, highlighting her role in bringing pride to the nation. Standing at 5 feet 6 inches, Bacyadan, a dedicated Cordilleran boxer, was honored with a PHP 1 million incentive, presented in the form of a replica cheque. This token of appreciation celebrated her excellence in representing the Philippines on the global stage.

The following day, August 14, 2024, a grand parade was held to honor the Filipino Olympians. The 17 athletes, including two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo, participated in the procession from Aliw Theater in Pasay City to the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. The parade was attended by a large crowd of fans who gathered to celebrate the athletes' achievements and show their support.
