Early this morning, Ms. Minirva D. Songaben of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Cordillera turned over 50 pieces of DIY face shields at the Bauko Operation Center amidst fight against COVID 19.
Assembled by the Philippine Science High School in Baguio City, this PPE has 3D printer bracket which will be distributed to uniformed and rural health unit personnel.
In her letter, DOST Regional Director Nancy Bantog expressed the agency's deepest appreciation to the frontliners of this town [Bauko].
"As one of the agencies involved in DRRM, we continue to uphold our overarching mantra of saving lives and properties through continuous development and deployment of appropriate technologies and innovation," Bantog added.
In return, Bauko Mayor Abraham Buclay Akilit relayed his much appreciation as the assistance came in timely especially that commercial face shields are hardly found in the market and that Bauko needs more PPEs as the municipal LGU is providing support in all barangay quarantine control points.
Thank you, DOST! Together, #WeHealAsOne.
