In the wake of Typhoon Betty, three people in Asipulo, Ifugao, displayed exemplary honesty and integrity by returning almost P1 million in lost cash to their rightful owners.

In the first incident, Willam Anudon and his grandson CJ Buccahan found a bundle of cash amounting to P305,000 along the Bahag-Amduntog Provincial Road in the municipality. They saw a Facebook post from a woman who had lost a large sum of cash in the same area. The woman had been traveling from Baguio City to Asipulo when she accidentally dropped the money.

Willam Anudon and his grandson CJ Buccahan returned a bundle of cash amounting to P305,000 they found along the Bahag-Amduntog Provincial Road to the Asipulo Municipal Police Station. They said that they felt it was the right thing to do.

Despite being wet and shivering with cold, Anudon and Buccahan immediately went to the Asipulo Municipal Police Station to return the money. They said that they felt it was the right thing to do.

The police were able to contact the woman who had lost the money, and she was reunited with her cash. She expressed her gratitude to Anudon and Buccahan for their honesty.

In the second incident, Jerry Inuguidan from Boko, Nungawa, Asipulo returned cash amounting to P685,000 which he found while traversing along Bahag-Amduntog Road. Inuguidan said that he was traversing along the road when he saw a bundle of cash lying on the ground. He picked it up and took it to the police station, where it was turned over to the rightful owner.

The police commended Anudon, Buccahan, and Inuguidan for their honesty and integrity. They said that their actions are a testament to the good people of Asipulo.

This is not the first time that people in Asipulo have displayed such admirable qualities. In 2018, a woman named Maria Teresa Abang lost her bag containing P100,000. A Good Samaritan found the bag and returned it to her, refusing to accept any reward.

These stories are a reminder that there are still good people in the world who are willing to do the right thing, even when it is difficult. They are also a testament to the strong sense of community that exists in Asipulo.

When asked why they returned the money, Anudon, Buccahan, and Inuguidan all said that they simply felt it was the right thing to do. They said that they were raised to be honest and trustworthy, and that they could not imagine keeping the money for themselves.
