Dir. Jeoffrey C. Tacio, a proud Igorot hailing from Atok and La Trinidad, Benguet, is the current Officer-in-Charge Director of the Intelligence and Investigation Service (CISS) of the Bureau of Customs (BoC or BOC).
Before his current role, Dir. Tacio served as the Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-RO1 where he greatly contributed to the Peace and Order of the Ilocos Region.
Dir. Tacio had been proactive in his anti-drug advocacy as evidenced by his track record in public service when he led PDEA RO1 to become the Best PDEA Regional Office for the CY 2014.
He has always made sure that the grassroots authorities get involved especially concerning the war against illegal drugs.
By personally conducting lectures, he has influenced more people, young and old about the great dangers of using illegal drugs. His men and women behind him were inclined to be more adaptive in the performance of their duties thus, making them a versatile unit of the whole agency.
Recently, Dir. Tacio's department was awarded for his exemplary performance in border protection-related operations as head of the CIIS during the 120th founding anniversary celebration of the agency.
Under his leadership as CIIS director, Tacio led the successful execution of the strengthened anti-smuggling and anti-corruption operations of BOC that resulted in the seizure of P28.4 billion worth of imported goods and contraband.
His agency filed 100 criminal cases against those involved in smuggling, including 63 administrative charges against BOC employees, brokers, and importers
Dir Tacio works round the clock, sacrificing weekends with families in the exigency of service. Together with the brave men and women of the agency, they are tripling their anti-drug efforts in adherence to President Rodrigo Duterte's Marching Order: The drug problem has to be stopped by all means that the law allows... the fight will be relentless and it will be sustained.
This is evident in the Office's Operational Success.
