Igorot beauty queen Roxanne Allison "Roxie" Agnaonao Baeyens finally made her decision to join the show business as a means to give inspiration and make her fans happy through her acting.
Headed by the former Kapamilya executive Johnny "Mr. M" Manahan, 17 new talents were introduced as official members of "Sparkada", the Kapuso version of the "Star Magic" show launched by Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
Mr. M was the former head of ABS-CBN's Star Magic and helped launched the careers of some of the country's biggest stars like Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, John Lloyd Cruz, and Bea Alonzo, who also recently transferred to the Kapuso network.
Roxie with her stage name "Roxie Smith" was among these young and fresh faces in the entertainment industry handpicked by Mr. M who has the potential to be the next leading star.
In a recent interview by the GMA network, the Igorota who stands 5'5" tall, shared the motivation behind her transition to becoming an actor.
"Na-realize ko na sobrang gusto ko pong maging artista. Alam mo 'yung sobrang 'pag pangit ang araw mo, 'pag feeling mo guguho na 'yung mundo mo, bubuksan mo ang TV mo, papanoorin 'yung serye tapos parang nawala na ang lahat ng problema mo," Roxanne said.
"'Yun 'yung saya na nabibigay ng isang artista. 'Yun 'yung nakikita kong para siyang service and that's how I want to live my life. Live my life of service. Gusto kong magpasaya ng tao sa pag-aarte." she added.
The Igorota beauty from Besao, Mountain Province almost won Miss Earth 2020 in a historic event on November 29, 2020, held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She bagged the Best in Talent (dance category) and Best in Long Gown Awards in the Pre-pageant competition and won the title of Miss Earth-Water 2020 (1st Runner Up).
