Two more centenarians in Mountain Province recognized

Two more centenarians were included in the list of provincial awardees recognized by the Provincial Government of Mountain Province.

This January, two more centenarians were included in the list of provincial awardees recognized by the Provincial Government of Mountain Province.

Avelina Placido, 100 and a resident of Gayang, Sabangan and 100-year-old Petra Segat of Lubon, Tadian were both the sixth centenarian to receive the award in their respective municipality. Both were recommended by the Mountain Province Provincial Centenarian Committee to be recognized and honored after passing and fulfilling the requirements of Provincial Ordinance No. 192.

Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. personally turned over a congratulatory resolution, a plaque of recognition and a check amounting to P30,000 each on January 21.

The two centenarians are also expected to receive an amount P100,000 cash incentive from the national government’s centenarian program.

Under Republic Act No. 10868, all Filipinos who reach the age of one hundred (100) years old, whether residing in the Philippines or abroad, shall be honored with:

  • A Letter of Felicitation from the President of the Philippines congratulating the celebrant for his or her longevity; and
  • A Centenarian Gift in the amount of one hundred thousand pesos (P100,000.00).
