At least 50 cadets from the Cordillera or who trace their roots to the region graduated from the premiere military academy this Sunday, May 21.
Philippine Military Academy spokesperson Major Charito Dulay said that about 50 cadets coming from the different provinces of the Cordillera region are among the 311 members of the "MAndirigmang may DAngal SImbolo ng Galing at PagbangON" or MADASIGON Class of 2023.
The graduating Cordilleran cadets composed of 42 males and eight females have six achievers, three of them in the Top 10.
Those in the top 10 Cadet First Class Rojan Macario of Barlig, Mountain Province and Zamboanga City who is the Top 6, Cadet 1CL Kimberly Kate Lawingan of Sadanga, Mountain Province - Top 8, and Cadet 1CL Arla Krish Bahingawan of Kiangan, Ifugao -Top 10.
Other achievers include Cadet 1CL Ma Ysabelle Versoza of Baguio City who is graduating as cum laude, Cadet 1CL Jeuel Ariel Wangwang of Bontoc, Mountain Province, awardee of the Department of Information Technology Plaque and Cadet 1CL John Rozz Oggang of Tinglayan, Kalinga who is this year's Male Athletic Saber awardee and also a cum laude.
The graduating cadets received their diplomas during the commencement rites at the Fort Del Pilar on Sunday with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the guest of honor and speaker.
