Denser Gabe Dongla Sadlay is the only cadet graduating from an unknown place called Labbay in Sabangan, Mountain Province, among the 224 remarkable cadets of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) "MASAKBAYAN" class of 2020, which will hold graduation rites on June 12, 2020.
Denser Gabe D. Sadlay completed his secondary education from Pingad National High School in his hometown in 2013. He also enrolled in Mechanical Engineering at the Saint Louis University in Baguio City before joining the highly-acclaimed PMMA.
Sabangan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it only has a population of 9,315 people.
Despite coming from an unknown community, Sadlay's unimaginable sacrifice and hard work along with determination, perseverance and faith to finish his chosen career path is what makes him an inspiration for young people.
Sadlay, the Igorot son from Sabangan, Mountain Province will join the Philippine Navy.

PMMA is an institution, directly under the supervision of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Navy, for midshipmen that will serve a variety of private shipping companies, whether foreign or local.
PMMA offers two major baccalaureate programs, Bachelor of Science in Marine Transport and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.
Its midshipmen may also serve in the Philippine Coast Guard or the Philippine Navy as an ensign (equivalent to 2nd Lieutenant in the Philippine Marines) afterwards, depending on their choice.
