Marie Fe Valdez Aliba, a proud Igorot woman from Sabangan, Mountain Province representing Baguio City and Benguet Province in the Mrs. Universe Philippines 2021 crowned Ambassadress of Education.
The Igorota was among the candidates crowned as Mrs. Universe Philippines Ambassadress together with Rosana Eugenio of Bulacan and Alec Nicole Bathan of Batangas.
In her National Costume presentation, Mrs. Valdez wore a Filipiniana design by Anthony Chan and crafted by talented artists of Baguio City.
"I am rooted, standing tall, and strong from the City in the clouds, Baguio. Being a UNESCO creative city, she is wearing a crafted filipiniana made by the talented artists of Baguio. The dress is adorned with tassels made from bamboo. Bamboo is known for being the City's protector, located in the mountainous region prone to landslides. The bamboo plant is what holds the soil firm and steady. Mrs. Baguio proudly wears this medium as a symbol of the resiliency of the Baguio people," Aliba said.

In a Facebook post, Mrs. Universe Philippines 2021 Baguio City Marie Fe Valdez Aliba thanked God, her husband, and all her supporters and that representing her roots and culture was a great privilege and an honor.
Representing our race and culture was a great privilege and honor. Competing by the rules is respect, dignity, and integrity. Projecting the best unminding the pains is passion and finishing the race a milestone and dedication.
Missing the grand title and crown doesn't make us losers but wiser and stronger and even more beautiful. The joy and smile after it is the sincerest of all.
