Maricar Abad Docyogen, a proud Cordilleran, received this year's Marilag Awards National Woman Entrepreneur 2022 at the National Convention Center on March 29, 2022.
Maricar, a former nurse turned entrepreneur, was recognized for her work and advocacy to inspire others to persevere for the betterment of their family and community.
Docyogen is a former OFW who worked as a nurse at the King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital in Saudi Arabia from 1999 to 2006.
She is a bookworm who turned her passion for reading into a business that gave birth to Bookends Bookshop, located on Claudio Street in Baguio City.
In 2015, she was awarded the Golden Book Awards for Business Excellence.
She then founded the Pasa-Kalye Group of Artists, which aims to help members promote their artworks and help popularize Cordilleran arts in their own small ways.
The purpose of the Marilag Awards is to recognize Filipina Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW)-Regional Community Leaders and Family Welfare Officers throughout the country in recognition and appreciation for their tireless efforts in providing assistance to OWWA and its clients.
