The online community has nothing but praises and admiration for Patrolman Rocky Lazo Pedroche today for his kindness in helping two Persons with Disability (PWD).
The Cordilleran Police Officer went viral on social media after helping two blind men cross a busy and dangerous road in La Trinidad, Benguet.
In a post circulating on Facebook shared by Agustin Dao-anis, the kind policeman was seen patiently leading the two blind persons to safely cross the road along Kilometer 4 in the Strawberry Capital of the Philippines.
PAT Pedroche said they were just patrolling and helping with traffic when he noticed two blind persons intending to cross the road.
Out of his concern and duty to serve and protect, PAT Pedroche immediately approached the two PWDs and introduced himself while requesting to guide the two where they wanted to go.
"Noong mga panahon po nayon, nagcoconduct kami ng aming patrol at the same time nag-aasist kami ng traffic. Nung nakita ko po yung dalawang may kapansanan ay nilapitan ko po, nagpakilala po ako at sinabi kung gagabayan ko po sila kung saan sila pupunta," Pedroche said in an interview.
He said he did this to make sure the two blind could cross the street safely and not be hurt by vehicles passing from both sides of the road.
The good deed shown by PAT Pedroche has garnered positive comments of praise and admiration from social media.
"Ikalat po natin ang pagtulong sa kapwa, kahit po maliit na bagay po ito, sana po ay ipagpatuloy natin ang pagtulong sa kapwa," Pedoche's reaction when asked about his viral photo.
