Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) brags that they have no backlog in processing samples of persons under investigation in Northern Luzon.
According to BGHMC chief Dr. Ricardo Ruñez Jr., up to 5,000 test kits were received when they were certified to conduct an independent COVID test.
According to him, they are now able to perform 80-100 COVID tests from the previous 40 daily.
This has resulted in a faster and real-time delivery of test results to patients to determine their health status.
DOH-Cordillera Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan said this would help reduce the backlog of tests conducted by RITM at BGHMC's independent COVID testing center.
To date, nine COVID positive patients have been in stable condition while eight PUIs have been transferred to Baguio's centralized containment center.
BGHMC is one of five sub-national COVID-19 testing centers certified by RITM to conduct independent COVID tests.
