Authorities destroyed 10 cockfighting rings in various towns of Benguet province on Wednesday, February 19.
According to a report by the Benguet Provincial Police Office (PPO), a series of operations were conducted Wednesday against illegal cockfighting in eight towns of the province.
Authorities destroyed 10 man-made makeshift cockfighting rings in Buguias, Itogon, Tublay, Kapangan, Sablan, Atok, Tuba and Mankayan, some of which were still being burned by authorities.
It has been found that such cockpit is used for non-bladed illegal cockfighting.
However, authorities have not found any suspects in the series of operations against illegal gambling.
According to the police, the operation was carried out in support of PNP chief Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa's campaign against any type of gambling here in the country.
