Sandex's first taste of the limelight came when he participated in the "Tawag ng Tanghalan" segment of It's Showtime, a popular amateur talent competition that has launched the careers of many Filipino artists. Competing on such a prominent stage was no small feat, but it was only the beginning for Sandex.
Following his appearance on It's Showtime, he continued to pursue his dreams by joining GMA Network's variety show TictoClock. These early experiences helped him gain valuable exposure and honed his skills as a performer.
Joining a Baguio-Based Talent Agency
After his television appearances, Sandex took his ambitions to the next level by joining a talent agency based in Baguio. This move allowed him to work closely with industry professionals who guided and supported him in his journey as an aspiring artist.
His time in Baguio proved to be a turning point in his career. While there, Sandex received an unexpected call from a talent coordinator of Viva Artists Agency, asking if he could visit their office in Manila.
"Tumawag if pwede ako mag visit sa office niya sa Manila e sa Baguio ako nakareside that time," he recalled. Although he was initially hesitant, fearing it might be a scam, he decided to take the risk.
"Siyempre natatakot ako baka scammer or nantritrip lang pero naging okay naman usapan," he shared.
Officially Part of Viva Artists Agency
Sandex's decision to trust the process paid off. Earlier this month, he officially signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency, joining a roster of talents that includes some of the biggest names in the Philippine entertainment industry.
In a Facebook post on August 21, Sandex proudly announced, "I am Sandex Bayaua Nunag, a proud yApayao and a Cordilleran, officially [part of] the Viva Artists Agency na!"
What Lies Ahead
With his new partnership with Viva, Sandex is now focused on further developing his skills. He is currently undergoing training and workshops designed to prepare him for the various roles he will take on as an artist. Upcoming projects for Sandex include mall shows and campus tours, where he will showcase his talent to a broader audience.
In addition to his singing career, Sandex is also exploring opportunities as a songwriter and actor. He expressed his aspirations, saying, "Hopefully in the near future, makapag teleserye o pelikula po."
