Sometime in August 1986, the late Sen. Agapito "Butz" Aquino was sent by her sister-in-law, former President Corazon C. Aquino to the hinterlands of the Cordillera as an emissary to convince the late CPLA leader Fr. Conrado Balweg to lay down arms and "talk peace".
