The Montanosa Film Festival, in collaboration with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, recently and successfully concluded "The MFF Film Lab presents: FDCP Film Talks," which was held last week from February 17 to 20.

The talks, which were aimed at up-and-coming independent and student filmmakers in the Cordilleras, tackled a variety of topics on filmmaking, including film production, management, and casting; scriptwriting; directing; and cinematography.

Each talk also aimed to instill in its audience the role of the filmmaker in the community, highlighting a filmmaker's social responsibility as a visual storyteller in giving voice to those in need.

The MFF Film Lab presents: FDCP Film Talks allowed those who registered in the days leading up to the talks to directly interact with speakers over Zoom.

Facebook livestreams ensure that the talks are available for on-demand public viewing both during the talks and even after they have concluded.

The MFF sends its heartfelt thanks to the FDCP for sponsoring the talks; to the speakers---Gale Osorio, Fatrick Tabada, Sheron Dayoc, and Martika Escobar---for imparting their knowledge and wisdom in their respective fields to all viewers and participants; and to facilitators Dean Marcial and Mari'an C. Santos for fostering conducive and engaging atmospheres for learning over the series of talks.

The MFF would also like to thank its festival director, multi awarded film director Ferdinand John Balanag, for overseeing the collaboration between the MFF and FDCP and leading it to success.

The first MontaƱosa Film Festival is presented by the Baguio City Mayor's Office, Department of Tourism and supported by festival lead partners- Council for Baguio Creative City, Baguio Tourism Council, Tourism Promotions Board, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, University of the Philippines Baguio and the Embassies of France, India and Czech Republic.

The MFF is organized by The Workshop for Infinite Media, Inc. under the helm of Festival Director Ferdinand John Balanag, a multi-awarded film and theatre director.
